To protect the image and the emulsion, the hologram is laminated with an optical epoxy to cover glass.
The different sizes of the work are, 8" x 10" (20cmx25cm), 12"x16" (30cmx40cm), and 30"x30" (75cmx75cm). Sometimes I use a water jet to cut a finished, laminated glass sandwich into an irregular shape.
Framed in aluminum, a transmission hologram can be suspended from the ceiling or placed on a tripod or pedestal. The artwork is illuminated from the back, using a straight, vertical filament light bulb in an enclosed housing.
A reflection hologram, backed with wood, hangs flush on the wall and is illuminated with a regular track light using a halogen spot light.
